I am a Chartered Engineer with a degree in metallurgy from Imperial College. Having gained initial experience in the power generation and manufacturing sectors I joined the Royal Mint. As Materials Development Manager at the Royal Mint she carried out research related to coins and coin manufacturing including tooling development, coin security, process analysis and new coinage development.
In 2007 I decided it was time for a change; I joined the Research and Enterprise Department at the University of Wales Newport, moving to Portsmouth in 2009. As a Collaboration Manager at the University of Portsmouth I worked closely with the Faculty of Technology developing and facilitating innovative collaborative projects with business funded by regional schemes and InnovateUK.
As an Innovation Partnership Fellow I work with academics across SEPnet to develop innovation from their research and develop relationships with business.
