We plan to study the 3-dimensional distribution of stellar population properties (age, metallicity, element abundances) in MaNGA galaxies and to derive gradients. This data set allows us to simultaneously resolve the inside of galaxies together with a statistically meaningful sampling of galaxy environment. Stellar population properties will be derived from a combination of line index and full spectral fitting. A key question we will address is how gradients in age, element abundances and formation time scales scale with galaxy mass, type and environment.
