Talk at Barton Peveril Sixth Form College
Astrophysicists and cosmologists tackle the biggest questions in the Universe, like how do galaxies form, what happened in the first few seconds after the Big Bang, and why is the Universe expanding? Scientists at the University of Portsmouth’s Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation are working to answer these questions and more, using huge supercomputers to create their own Universes and observing the skies with some of the biggest telescopes in the world. In this talk I will give an overview of some of the research being carried out by cosmologists at the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation and explain how you could one day join them!
