The Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation is located on the 3rd floor of the Dennis Sciama Building. Our building is named after the influential British astrophysicist Dennis Sciama, who supervised the early research of many other leading cosmologists, including Stephen Hawking and my own research supervisor, John Barrow.

Getting Here

Getting to Portsmouth: Portsmouth is a city on the southern coast of Britain, about a 90 minute train ride from London. It is about the same distance from London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports; Southampton airport is closer and has flights to many European cities.

Finding the ICG: The Dennis Sciama building is located in the University quarter, not far from the harbour and Gunwharf Quays. A printable map of the University buildings can be found here.
