ICG Hosts a Meeting of the Fellowship of the Royal Society for the encouragment of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce

November 7, 2013 By admin

Last night ICG hosted an event in the RSA Fellowship South East region series Ideas in Education.

Dr. Karen Masters and Dr. Jennifer Gupta showcased the range of Zooniverse citizen science projects (including Galaxy Zoo which ICG have had a longstanding involvement in) and led a discussion on how they can be used to enrich science education. They showed off the Zooteach website – a place to share and collect lesson plans using Zooniverse projects, the Galaxy Zoo Navigator Software (an in browser tool for exploring Galaxy Zoo data) and Zootools – a new initiative to enable even deeper in browser exploration of data.

The evening appeared to be a success with everyone leaving happy and some new contacts made.
