A summary of recent work done by myself and others in the community on understanding the apparent correlation between Type Ia supernova Hubble Residuals and the observable properties of the host galaxies of these objects. Both the origin of such a correlation and the importance for the DES Supernova Survey of obtaining detailed host galaxy information were discussed with input from the community at large.
This talk was given as part of the DES Supernova Community Workshop, University of Pennsylvania, Oct 13-14, 2011
